TeAM was involved in the RAI (Regional Artemisinin Initiative), Cambodia, Laos, Thailand, Viet Nam and Madagascar Global Fund malaria funding request preparation and grant making in 2017.
TeAM provided support on Global Fund (GF) related issues these last 2 years in more than 30 countries in French, English and Spanish as follows:
- TB and HIV/TB concept notes development/funding requests, grant making in 23 countries (Burkina Faso, Cambodia, Cameroun, CAR, Chad, Comoros, Congo Brazzaville, DRC, Gabon, Guinea, Laos, Madagascar, Malawi, Mali, Mauritania, Mongolia, Morocco, Myanmar, Niger, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, Tunisia, Viet Nam)
- CCM EPA and support in 12 countries (Albania, Armenia, Belize, Benin, Comoros, DRC, Gabon, Ghana, Guinea Bissau, Madagascar, Malaysia, Mauritania)
TeAM conducted in 2016-2017 three Health Facility Assessment (HFA) /Data Quality Review (DQR) surveys in Mali, Chad and Cameroun. We developed the study protocol in each of these 3 countries and are about to start the quality control.
o TeAM is the principal investigator for a study on introduction of Quality Control of Chest X-ray (CXR) interpretation for TB in Myanmar. It aims to develop and test an innovative protocol for Quality Control of CXR interpretation.
o TeAM is a partner of the UNITAID TB-Speed project on TB childhood early diagnosis which spans over four years in seven countries (Cambodia, Cameroon, Côte d’Ivoire, Guinea, Mozambique, Sierra Leone and Uganda). TeAM role is to measure evidence on the role of CXR in childhood TB diagnosis including quality control of CXR interpretation.
o TeAM is the principal investigator for a study on utilisation, impact and optimisation of GeneXpert in Swaziland.
New areas of expertise tackled in 2017 were pulmonary chest x-rays training, on-line web based TB patient management data in Senegal, and epidemiological survey on HIV file, DQR (Data Quality Review) in Chad, Cameroun and Mali, Xpert assessment.
